The best way to store your wig is to purchase a wig stand or a Styrofoam head for when you are not wearing your wig, an alternative is to store your wig in a box. Please make sure there are no creases when storing the wig in this way. Please read more in the looking after my wig section.

How do I choose a colour?

Because of the different types of computer monitors and their settings the colours are often not displayed correctly on your screen. In order to assist you we have samples of the different colours available on "colour rings" they differ from brand to brand and cost about R250.00 each. Generally the primary colours remain the same for different manufacturers, these are the numbers without a / in them. When a / is added it means the colour of the wig is a combination of the colours. For example : 1 is jet black and , 8 is light brown, the colour 1/8 will mean a combination of the two colours. The amounts added and the positioning of the colours make each manufacturers final product different.

We do not recommend it because they might alter and lose the style of your wig. If you find that the fringe on your new wig is too long you can trim it to suit your face, however we recommend you get your hairdresser to it.

Can I take my new wig out of the packaging and wear immediately?

We would advise you to shake out your wig as unwanted creases can occur due to the wigs being tightly packaged. To remove these creases spray water onto the affected area, shake it out gently and let the wig dry naturally. This immediately brings out the beauty of your wig.

Why is it so difficult to get consistent quality human hair?

Human hair quality is inconsistent because humans are different thus making there hair different, however human hair can also be processed badly, turning good hair into a bad product.

Which should I choose, synthetic or human hair?

It is important to know and understand the differences between synthetic and human hair.
First of all, synthetic wigs are almost indistinguishable from human hair and it is surprisingly  difficult to tell the difference just by look and feel.
Choosing between a synthetic wig and human hair largely depends on your lifestyle and budget.
If you are looking for a wig that is easy to maintain and less expensive, then a synthetic piece would be a good choice.  You cannot style the synthetic wig with curling irons, blow dryers or hot rollers without the danger of permanently damaging the wig.
A human hair wig is more natural looking and  can be cut and styled to suit your personal taste. They are however more expensive and require more care, they have to be shampooed, dried, styled and conditioned, just like your natural hair. If you are planning to wear the wig everyday and would like to have the option to curl the wig then a human hair wig would be the best choice.

How often must I clean my wig?

This will depend on you and you're lifestyle, it is however suggested that you clean it after 10-15 days of use.

How do I clean my wig?

To wash the wig simply fill a basin with lukewarm water, add a small amount of wig shampoo (around  the size of a R5 coin). Swish the wig gently in the basin. Rinse thoroughly in cool water. Shake out and hang to drip dry or use a soft towel to lightly blot dry, and then let it dry naturally.  Do not brush, blow dry or heat style while wet this can permanently damage the wig. Please take note to only use hair products and accessories specifically manufactured for wigs, as other products can and will cause long-term damage to your wig.
